ŠKODA’s multi-award-winning FABIA range is set to confirm its status as the best value supermini on the market with the announcement that OTR prices for the fully updated model will start from just £12,840. The revised FABIA is set to hit the UK next month with a new all-petrol line-up, hatch and estate body styles and five trim level options – including Monte Carlo and Colour Edition.

Milton Keynes, 14 August 2018: The new, facelifted FABIA is the most advanced and well equipped ever, with a host of new safety systems, boosted specifications and a sharp new look. To meet increased demand for petrol power, ŠKODA has refreshed the FABIA’s engine line-up with three power outputs of 75PS, 95PS and 110PS, the latter of which comes with the option of a seven-speed DSG transmission.

All models in the new range now feature LED daytime running lights as standard along with Front Assist and a Multifunction Trip Computer. Entry-level FABIA S models are priced from £12,840 OTR.

Customers stepping up to the SE model (from £14,115 OTR) can choose from all drivetrain options and gain front fog lights and 15-inch Cygnus alloy wheels over the outgoing model, along with Radio Swing Plus and auto up/down function for the electric windows. Colour Edition models, priced from £14,665, gain 16-inch Vigo alloy wheels in white, silver or black.

Customers opting for the SE L benefit from an even more significant equipment boost over the previous model. Priced from £15,205 OTR, FABIA SE L models now feature Amundsen satellite navigation, Infotainment Online (for one year), lighting in the front centre console and 16-inch Evora alloy wheels. These items are in addition to the outgoing FABIA SE L’s already comprehensive specification list.

Priced from £16,785, the ever-popular FABIA Monte Carlo further enhances its reputation for sportiness with a range of new features. These include climate control air conditioning, LED rear lights, rear electric windows and new seat upholstery. The styling package includes a black front spoiler, black roof, black floor mats and carbon-effect dashboard trim.

Buyers will also be able to personalise their FABIA thanks to a vast range of options that include systems and features usually reserved for premium and luxury models. These include Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear View Camera, Driver Fatigue Assistant, and for the first time on FABIA, full LED headlights. The new model also introduces an additional safety system; Blind Spot Detection and Rear Traffic Alert (£390 RRP). Blind Spot detection helps the driver to change lanes safely by registering any vehicles in the blind spot, while Rear Traffic Alert recognises vehicles approaching from the sides when reversing out of parking bays.

The brand’s second biggest selling model in the UK after the OCTAVIA, the FABIA has been a mainstay of the ŠKODA range since its introduction in 2001. The third-generation supermini was launched in 2014 and has already clocked up more than half a million sales worldwide - making it the brand’s top seller in Europe.

ŠKODA is expanding the ŠKODA KAROQ series: With the new ŠKODA KAROQ SCOUT, the Czech car manufacturer will be presenting an even morerugged variant of the popular compact SUV series in October at the Paris Motor Show 2018. As with all ŠKODA SCOUT models, the KAROQ SCOUT comes with four-wheel drive as standard in addition to sporting a powerful off-road look.

Mladá Boleslav, 1 August 2018: ŠKODA is expanding the ŠKODA KAROQ series: With the new ŠKODA KAROQ SCOUT, the Czech car manufacturer will be presenting an even more rugged variant of the popular compact SUV series in October at the Paris Motor Show 2018. As with all ŠKODA SCOUT models, the KAROQ SCOUT comes with four-wheel drive as standard in addition to sporting a powerful off-road look.

Efficient, high-performance engines and all-wheel drive

As the only variant of the compact SUV available exclusively with all-wheel drive, ŠKODA offers three efficient and environmentally friendly engines for the KAROQ SCOUT. In addition to a 1.5 TSI petrol engine with 110 kW (150 PS) in combination with a 7-speed DSG, two diesel engines are also available: The 2.0 TDI with 110 kW (150 PS) comes with a manual 6-speed gearbox as standard; a 7-speed DSG is available as an option. In the most powerful ŠKODA KAROQ SCOUT, the 2.0 TDI delivers 140 kW (190 PS) and is coupled with a 7-speed DSG as standard.

Robust elements highlight the off-road character

With its chrome and silver-coloured bodywork elements, striking wheel arch linings and anthracite 19-inch ‘Crater’ alloy wheels, the ŠKODA KAROQ SCOUT sports a robust appearance. Tinted windows and SCOUT logos on the front mudguards round off the powerful look. In the interior, the seats feature newly designed covers with black-brown contrasting seams. All seats are embroidered with SCOUT lettering. The multifunction leather steering wheel, pedals with stainless steel elements and an LED package that includes ambient lighting complete the extensive range of standard equipment.

Virtual Cockpit and other smart features

Drivers can individually configure the ŠKODA KAROQ SCOUT’s Virtual Cockpit according to their needs. The driving mode selection offers an off-road setting. Thanks to an optional LTE module and Wi-Fi hotspot, passengers in the ŠKODA KAROQ are ‘always online’.

A true ŠKODA, the KAROQ SCOUT boasts numerous ‘Simply Clever’ ideas and storage options. The electric boot lid with tip-to-close function opens and closes at the push of a button or by pulling gently on the open lid; on request, the virtual pedal under the rear bumper allows the fifth door to be opened with a simple foot motion. ŠKODA offers a variable floor for the boot. Storage nets on the front seats and centre console make everyday driving easier, as does the compartment for small change and carpark tokens on the driver's side, as well as a holder for multimedia devices.

Not content with building one of the most luxurious, comfortable and generously equipped SUVs on the market, ŠKODA is raising the bar even higher with the launch of a new range-topping KODIAQ Laurin & Klement model.

Milton Keynes, 24 July 2018: With prices starting from £35,945 RRP, the L&K model features even more creature comforts, safety systems and driver technology than the previous top model - the KODIAQ Edition - further enhancing its reputation for value and practicality. The new KODIAQ L&K is available with four engine options; one petrol and three diesels, with power outputs ranging from 150PS to 190PS. All feature all-wheel drive and are available with DSG transmissions or in the case of the 2.0 TDI 150PS 4x4 variant, a six-speed manual option.

Named in honour of the company’s founders, Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, the new KODIAQ L&K is the most luxurious SUV ever offered by ŠKODA. Like other L&K models in the brand’s line-up, the KODIAQ L&K comes with a remarkably generous specification list that few, if any rivals, can come close to matching. In terms of design, the KODIAQ L&K is distinguished from other models in the range by a chrome grille, 19-inch Sirius alloy wheels finished in anthracite and unique front and rear bumpers. Body-coloured under-door panels with distinctive L&K signature logos on the front wings complete the exterior design package.

The luxurious theme continues inside where the cabin is bathed in natural light thanks to the standard panoramic sunroof. The seats are trimmed in leather and alongside the armrest, feature an L&K logo. Piano black decorative trims further enhance the premium feel, as does the standard ambient lighting system and aluminium trimmed pedals.

As befits a range-topping model, the KODIAQ L&K showcases ŠKODA’s numerous technologies, driver assistants and safety features. These include Columbus infotainment system, Area view, progressive steering, curtain airbags, CANTON sound system and heated windscreen. Despite the remarkable equipment list, the KODIAQ L&K still represents incredible value for money. While the new range-topper commands a £2,550 premium over the Edition model, the cost of the individual options fitted to the L&K as standard would usually cost more than £3,000.

First deliveries for the new KODIAQ L&K are expected later in the year.

ŠKODA Design has once again been tasked with designing the winners’ trophies for this year’s Tour de France. After the peloton crosses the finish line on the Champs-Elysées on 29 July, the winners of each classification will receive their trophies. ŠKODA AUTO CEO Bernhard Maier will personally award the wearer of the green jersey with the green crystal-glass trophy which is reserved for the leader of the points classification.

“The trophies for the winners of the Tour de France provide a fascinating interplay between soft curves and precise lines, which widen towards the top. They are thereby reminiscent of a bird’s wings mid-flight,” explained ŠKODA AUTO designer Peter Olah.

The 60-centimetre-tall and four-kilogramme masterpieces of Czech glass art are manufactured by the Czech company Lasvit and the trophies’ elegant silhouettes are now considered to be a trademark of the Tour de France. Each year the ŠKODA AUTO designers draw on inspiration from new influences when creating the surface of the awards. This year the trophy pays homage to the geometric designs and angular shapes of Czech cubism.

This year, ŠKODA AUTO is acting as an official sponsor and vehicle partner for the Tour de France for an amazing 15th time; since 2011, the long-established Czech brand from Mladá Boleslav has also been designing the trophies awarded to the winners of the cycling race through France.

On 7 July, the 105th edition of the classic cycling tour began on the Atlantic island of Noirmoutier-en-Ile. By the time the peloton crosses the finish line on the Champs-Elysées next Sunday 29 July, the riders will have covered a total of 3,351 km across 21 stages.
